Known by his black and white coat. 99% of their diet is bamboo shoots and leaves. They are a national treasure in China. Pandas are adored around the world.

They live in a few mountain ranges in central China. Farming, deforestation and development pushed them from their natural habitat.

We need to keep the efforts to protect and save the Pandas.

We must protect the wildlife on the planet and we need to do more. The sad part is that we are running out of time.

We need to make sure all the endangered species survive so the balance in Nature remains for future generations and the only way for them to see any of these beautiful animals is not in photos or paintings.

Inspired by my best friend Kim who is a Land Surveyor and our countless conversations about perspective and the viewpoint for the backgrounds in art.

She once told me, “It is all about the Vanishing Point” and then while I was setting up a vanishing point for a background, the idea came to me, mixed with thoughts about George Seurat pointillism and a Venezuelan artist I grow up admiring, Cruz Diez and his kinetic artwork, to try to use the vanishing point and combine it with Negative Space.

I'm using lines, negative space and a Vanishing Point to create a painting that the viewer's mind will complete.
